October already?

I never realized how fast time can go. I can't believe it's the middle of October. I'm afraid if I don't write or blog then the time when my kids are little will just be one big blur! So here it is! After a year I am finally updating this thing!

Oct. 15, 2009

Spencer got stitches yesterday. He got his middle left finger stuck in the hinges side of the door at school. The tippy top of his finger had to be sewn shut....He was in such agony that I wished I could take the pain for him. If I could have sprouted wings & flown over traffic to get to Sandy's office, I would have! He's ok now. When he got to school today, he was like a celebrity and the girls were famous by association!

Our stake roadshow was last night. I know. I know. I thought they didn't do them anymore either. Anyway my friend Amy took this pix of Maddie. She was a flower.

If you've never heard of a roadshow, it's a 15 minute musical that the youth of our church performs that centers around a gospel theme. Our ward's theme was Choosing the Right. The girls were fruit, veggies & flowers from the Garden of Eden. The kids put a lot of time energy into the performance and it really showed when it was time to perform.

We made a quick trip to San Diego for the BYU game. Sandy got tickets in the 9th row! I played with different settings on my camera. I'm sure if I understood the game I would get better shots of the game but whatever they are doing here seemed pretty exciting to everyone so I took a pix. I love my long lens and sports mode!

fall 08

Hi everyone! thought I'd send you a little update! Hope you are all doing well!

Let's see.....Just finished making Shredded Beef French Dip Sandwiches for my make-ahead freezer meal group. Here's the recipe if any of you want it. Way easy. Super yummy too!

French Dip Sandwiches

Water (as needed)

1 chuck roast (or rump)

1 envelope au jus mix

1 envelope onion soup mix

shredded mozz cheese (way optional)

hoagie rolls

Mix au jus mix and onion soup & & water in slow cooker. Add roast. Cook on high for 5-6 hours or until tender & shreds easily. Serve on rolls with cheese and dip in au jus.

It's GREAT TO BE 8!!! Spencer turned 8 & is an official cub scout! Isn't he adorable!?

For Halloween Day/Nevada Day we went to Cali. No, not Disneyland. Knotts Berry Farm. We have annual passes. It was great. We went on every ride not once but two & three times in a row. Sometimes I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get off a ride b/c the majority of people wanted to go on again! The kids did "Camp Spooky" (instead of Camp Snoopy). The kids did a fun little treasure hunt there.

Nat doesn't seem real happy here, does she?

OH, gotta add some more fun pix. This is the father-daughter activity day for the girls. It was a Fear Factor Halloween theme! Thanks Dad for joining them!

Good thing Sandy & Dad get along, huh?

LOOKING AHEAD: Thanksgiving & Spencer's baptism is coming up! Many of the Whites are coming from out of town. I can't wait!!!

Anyway, thanks for letting me share a little of my October with you!!!! Love, Jen

Sunday, May 18, 2008

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing well....Well, I'm not very good at remembering to update my blog. Actually,I forgot I had a blog!!! Life is so crazy! Anyway, we are doing great. School's almost over and we've planned a week trip to the beach the first week of June. We are all pretty excited.

It seemed like overnight it has turned into summer here in Vegas! Today it was 103 degrees!!

Yesterday we went to Mount Charleston for a High Priest brunch. Spencer insisted we were among the Sequoia & Redwood trees that he just learned about in school. I don't think these were the tallest trees in the world, but I took a couple of pix anyway....

Well, we went home, did chores & enjoyed swimming in a warm pool! We finished our Saturday with a trip to Town Center to watch Prince Caspian (Chronicles of Narnia). Hannah has been especially interested (ok, downright obsessed!) with seeing this movie since we read Prince Caspian aloud last winter.

The kids had a lot of comments about the movie on the way home & it sparked a lot of interesting family conversation! What a fun day!
